Vacuum chambers

Our vacuum chambers are designed to verify that weldings are watertight. With the vacuum chambers we perform a non destructive test. With this test we try to detect the presence of defects on the weldings or materials that would allow leakages and therefore the loss of the watertightness. The chambers are a waterproof container that we manufacture in several materials. This container is transparent or at least is equipped with a transparent viewing window allowing the operator to see what happens inside.

Once created vacuum in the area to test, we could observe the pressure inside the enclosure. In case there would be a leakage the pressure will increase gradually until the atmospheric pressure is reached. This change in pressure would be an indication of the existence of a welding spot from where outside air is entering. This spot will be located for further repair. For this, the welding is pre-moistened with a solution of soapy water. The air that penetrates inside the enclosure produces then bubbles that rapidly indicate the location of the defect.

Among the advantages obtained from such non-destructive testing over other types of tests used for welding inspection, the most important would be:

Vacuum chambers for flat or slightly curved surfaces

These vacuum chambers have a soft rubber joint in their base, allowing their use on flat or slightly curved surfaces.

We have in stock vacuum chambers with external dimensions 500x160 mm. We manufacture vacuum chambers in other dimensions on request.

Vacuum chambers for angle weldings

These vacuum chambers are designed to check angle weldings.

We have in stock vacuum chambers with external dimensions 560x200x200 mm. We manufacture vacuum chambers in other dimensions on request.

Vacuum chambers for corner weldings

These vacuum chambers are designed to check corner weldings.

We have in stock vacuum chambers with external dimensions 250x250x250 mm. We manufacture vacuum chambers in other dimensions on request.
